McLaury Engineering is seeking a Civil Senior Design Engineer to join our growing engineering design and management team. This position is designed for an experienced engineer who is ready to take ownership of complex designs, mentor other engineers, and play a key role in shaping project delivery and technical standards.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Civil Senior Design Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and technical execution of civil municipal and private development projects of varying size and complexity
  • Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and technicians to develop efficient, high-quality engineering solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
  • Assist with project planning, scope development, and coordination to support successful project delivery
  • Prepare and review engineering studies, designs, drawings, and maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other technical software
  • Perform field investigations and inspections as needed to support design decisions
  • Support project managers through technical coordination, constructability input, and design review
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive civil engineering design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required
  • Strong understanding of municipal and private development design standards
  • Proven proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and develop technical documents and plans
  • Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of work
